DataJedi TS — Full Plugin Guide (User-Facing Documentation)

A clean, fast, single-select search box for Bubble data. Point it at a list of Things, choose which field is the ID and which is the base label, and (optionally) provide a Caption template to control what shows in each row.

1) What this element is

A searchable select input for Bubble that:

• Takes a list of Things you provide.
• Lets you define which field is saved as the value (ID) and which field is used as the initial label.
• Lets you customize the visible row text with a simple Caption template (optional).
• Matches user queries across one or more fields with OR/AND semantics you control.

2) Primary data inputs

2.1 Data Type

• What it does: Sets the Bubble data type this element works with. Other fields (like Search List and Default Value) will expect this type.

2.2 Search List

• Type: List of Things (your Data Type).
• What it does: Supplies the records that appear in the dropdown.
• Best practice: Pre-filter on the server (privacy rules, constraints) so only valid rows reach the browser.

2.3 ID Field

• Type: Text (field name).
• What it does: The field on each Thing to save/return as the value.
• Tips:
  • Use a stable identifier (e.g., Unique ID, a slug, or your own unique field).
  • If left blank, the element chooses a sensible default based on common identifier fields.

2.4 Label Field

• Type: Text (field name).
• What it does: The base label for each option (used if no Caption is provided).
